Market Cap of S&P 500 Index Constituents 2025

Updated Oct 1, 2025
Which stock market companies are the most valued and have the highest market capitalization? The top ones included in the popular broad-level stock market index, like the S&P 500 index, provide an answer. The S&P 500 index is designed to include the companies which are having the maximum market capitalization. Market cap indicates the market value of the company as reflected by the stock price and the number of shares of the company. For instance, if a company constitutes of 1 million shares and the per share price at the moment is $12, then the market cap or market value of the company is (1 million shares * $12) = $12 million.
Stock market indexes, like the S&P 500 index, are designed to select companies based on their market cap, rank them in the decreasing order of their market cap, and select the ones which rank among the top 500 (or so) for inclusion in the index. Along with market cap, there may be additional conditions to be met by a company to be included in the stock index. The number of shares of a company remains fairly constant over time except for certain corporate actions which may change the shares quantity. However, the price of company shares keeps changing with every passing minute. Therefore, the market cap also changes accordingly. The 500 constituent companies of the S&P 500 index have a wide range of market cap - from nearly $1 trillion down to $1 billion.

Following is the list of all the companies that make up the S&P 500 index with their corresponding market capitalization values as of writing. The list is presented in the decreasing order of the market cap values - that is, the company with higher market cap ranks higher in the list.
Beyond individual stocks, one can also explore the several different ways in which one can invest in the S&P 500 index, including the List of S&P 500 ETFs and List of best performing S&P 500 stocks.
