Dow Jones is one the leading stock market indexes of the world. Also called as 'The Dow', or simply the Dow, it constitutes of the top 30 largest stocks of the American companies by market capitalization. Market cap value represents the worth of a company, and is computed using a simple multiplication of the number of shares of a listed company and the price of the stock.
Though the number of shares remain the same over a longer periods of time unless a company goes for a corporate action, the price of the stock keeps changing with every tick. Therefore, the market cap value also keeps changing owing the changes in stock price.

The list is presented in the decreasing order of the market cap values - that is, the company with higher market cap ranks higher in the list.
