While the name of FTSE 250 Index may seem to imply that it contains the top 250 companies which trade on the London Stock Exchange, that's not the case. The index actually comprises of top 101st to 350th companies by market-capitalization value of the UK stock market. Therefore, this index is a subset of the larger FTSE 350 Index which contains top 350 companies of the UK stock market. FTSE International Limited is the creator, managor and distributor of this index, and operates as a wholly owned subsidiary of the London Stock Exchange (LSE). Aimed at including companies whose stocks offer high level of liquidity, market-cap valuation, and investability. The rebalancing of the constituents is performed on a quarterly basis. This article presents the list of the companies listed on LSE which are a part of the leading stock market index FTSE 250 Index. Details in the table include values of market cap, current stock price, percent returns and YTD gains/loss of 2020 till the time of writing.
