HSBC Holdings plc (HSBC), incorporated on January 1, 1959, is the banking and financial services company. The Company manages its products and services through four business areas: Retail Banking and Wealth Management (RBWM), Commercial Banking (CMB), Global Banking and Markets (GB&M), and Global Private Banking (GPB). The Company operates across various geographical regions, which include Europe, Asia, Middle East and North Africa, North America and Latin America. As of December 31, 2016, the Company operated in 70 countries and territories across the world.

Retail Banking and Wealth Management

The Company's RBWM business offers Retail Banking, Wealth Management, Asset Management and Insurance. RBWM provides services to individuals under the HSBC Premier and Advance propositions aimed at customers who value international connectivity and benefit from its global reach and scale. For customers who have simpler everyday banking needs, RBWM offers a full range of banking products and services reflecting local requirements.

Commercial Banking

As of December 31, 2016, CMB served approximately two million customers in 54 countries and territories. Its customers range from small enterprises focused primarily on their domestic markets through to corporates operating globally. It supports its customers with tailored financial products and services. Services provided include working capital, term loans, payment services and international trade facilitation, among other services, as well as expertise in mergers and acquisitions, and access to financial markets.

Global Banking and Markets

As of December 31, 2016, GB&M served approximately 4,100 clients in more than 50 countries and territories. It supports government, corporate and institutional clients across the world. Its product specialists continue to deliver a range of transaction banking, financing, advisory, capital markets and risk management services.

Global Private Banking

The Company's GPB business serves high-net-worth individuals and families, including those with international banking needs, through booking centers covering its markets. Its products and services include Investment Management, which incorporates advisory, discretionary and brokerage services; Private Wealth Solutions, which consists of trusts and estate planning, designed to manage wealth and preserve it for future generations, and a range of Private Banking services.
