NASDAQ 100 is one of the closely followed market indicators and includes around 100 largest local U.S. and global non-financial companies which are listed on The Nasdaq Stock Market. The constituent stocks in the NASDAQ 100 index are weighed based on a modified capitalization-weighted methodology. Several different exchange traded funds (ETF) exist which are based on the popular market index. They work on a passive management style, and replicate by investing in stocks of NASDAQ 100 constituent companies in the given proportion. Such NASDAQ 100 ETFs attempt to mirror the returns generated from the underlying index, after deducting the expense ratio and the tracking error. Such ETFs allow benefit of real time trading like a stock, diversification like a mutual fund, single holding in form of a standard ETF that covers a big basket of stocks, and low expense ratio. This article provides a list of all available ETFs which are based on the NASDAQ 100 stock market index, and are available in different variants. The most common form of NASDAQ ETFs are the ones which follow a passive investment style and they simply replicate the investment of NASDAQ 100 index's constiuent stocks in the given proportion. Other varieties of NASDAQ ETFs also exist, and one can also find a lot of variations as per the risk appetite. They include leveraged ETFs which attempt to amplify the returns generated by a given factor (like 2x or 3x), and there are inverse ETFs that generate returns which are in direction opposite to that of returns from the NASDAQ 100 index.
