The Small cap market segment is typically defined as those companies which have a market capitalization ranging from US$300 million to $2 billion. Since the list of such companies is huge, investors may not be able to pick the best of the lot, and its better to go for a select basket of stocks through the ETF route. Along with a large pool of small cap stocks, there are Small Cap ETFs, Small Cap Blend ETFs, Small Cap Growth ETFs and Small Cap Value ETFs. They allow ample choice to investors to invest in a portfolio of small cap stocks. Additionally, there are the Leveraged Small Cap Exchange-traded Funds (ETF) which have gained momentum in recent times. These leverage ETFs offer amplified returns on their corresponding small cap market index, and using these investors can gain more exposure, like two times or three times, from a select market or sector of their choice in the small cap space. Other segments available are Leveraged Micro Cap ETFs, Leveraged Mid Cap ETFs, Leveraged Large Cap ETFs, Leveraged Mega Cap ETFs and Leveraged Multi Cap ETFs. Following is the list of all 12 exchange-traded funds that FKnol has in its database for ETFs which belong to the Leveraged Small Cap category:

How Leveraged Small Cap ETFs Work?
Each leveraged small cap ETF tracks a particular stock market index of the small cap sector. For instance, it can be S&P Small Cap 600 or Russell 2000 Index. The ETF invests the pooled capital collected from the ETF investors into the securities or financial derivatives of the index constituent companies, or of the index. Using suitably structured derivatives positions on the index and/or its securities, the leveraged returns of 2x, 3x or 4x are achieved.
