Among the large-sized list of Large cap exchange-traded funds (ETF) (See full list), investors may be interested in those ETFs which provide some form of regular income at frequent intervals. These small-ticket payments usually come in the form of dividend payments. As the companies grow their business and generate profits, a part of those profits can either be given to the investors in the form of dividend, or it can be ploughed back into the business to generate more value appreciation for the company. The 'value' theme fits the investors who wish to receive some part of payments in the form of regular income, while the latter form of investing the profits back to generate more capital appreciation is called 'Growth' theme (See list of Large Cap Growth ETFs). The following ETFs listed in the table below are categorized as 'value' ETFs, as they are constitueted on the theme of paying dividends. Following is the list of all 35 exchange-traded funds that FKnol has in its database for ETFs which belong to the Large Cap Value category:

Instead of investing the money back into the investments, there are specific ETFs which like to pay the investors a small amount in the form of dividend return at regular intervals. These ETFs either invest in stocks which are known to pay regular dividends, and the ETFs keeps paying an 'average' amount of dividend received on the entire pool of ETF basket of stocks. In another form, an ETF may pay a dividend even though it may not receive suitable returns from the stocks' basket. However, in this case, the price of ETF units may come down, as the dividend payment is an outflow of money from the ETF capital which cannot be recalled.
