A very long list of Large cap exchange-traded funds (ETF) (See list) are available for investment and trading. Within that long list, there are specific sub-classes which may be of interest to various investors. For instance, investors may look for growth based ETFs, where they are ready to forego the short term income which comes in the form of dividend payment. Instead, they wish that their income (like dividends) is invested back, and they get capital appreciation in the value of their investments. Like you invest $100, it generates sufficient return to pay $10 as dividend. But instead of getting that $10, it is invested back making the total investment to around $110. This investment, if it grows at same 10 percent, then it will become worth $121 ($110 + 10 percent). Hence, the investor achieves capital appreciation (from $100 to $121), instead of short-term returns ($10 dividend with $100 capital). Opposite of Growth ETFs are the Value ETFs (See list of See list of Large Cap Value ETFs). Following is the list of all 162 exchange-traded funds that FKnol has in its database for ETFs which belong to the Large Cap Growth category:

Most often, a select universe of large-ap stocks is shortlisted by the ETF fund manager, and from that universe they select the suitable stocks which fit their defined criteria of 'growth' stocks. The ETF money is then invested in that select basket of large-cap growth equities. Other ETFs may invest passively, that is - they may follow a large-cap growth benchmark index, and replicate its portfolio.
