List of Dogs of the Dow ETFs of USA 2024

Updated Apr 15, 2024

USA ETF Screener:

The investment theory called 'Dogs of the Dow' has gained tremendous popularity in recent times. In fact, the so called 'Dogs of the Dow' have apparently performed better than the overall Dow Jones index in recent times. The investment principle is based on the selection of ten Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) stocks whose dividend is the highest fraction of their price. The concept was popularized by Michael B. O'Higgins in 1991. The theory advises to take the closing price at the end of the year, and pick the top 10 stocks from the 30 stocks of Dow Jones index which have yielded the maximum dividend as compared to their stock price. Then, on the first trading day of the new year, invest an equal amount into the 10 top dividend yielding stocks of the Dow as selected based on the previous year's performance. This 10 stock portfolio becomes your 'Dogs of the Dow' portfolio for that year.
Even within the Dogs of the Dow list, those who are looking for the 'best of the best' dividend yield payers, there is the exclusive category of Small Dogs of the Dow Stocks and their Dividend Payout Records.
Following is the list of all 4 exchange-traded funds that FKnol has in its database for ETFs which belong to the Dogs of the Dow category:
