USA ETF Screener:

How 2x Leveraged ETFs Work?

The 2x Leveraged ETFs work by offering two times the returns of those achieved on the price movement of the underlying asset (like gold, stock, market index like S&P 500, commodity like oil, currency rates, REIT or bonds). Using derivative products like futures, forwards, other derivatives and stocks, these leveraged 2x ETFs are designed such that they provide double the returns. For instance, if the price of a treasury bond declines from $1,000 to $990, or 1%, then the price of 2x leveraged ETF on such a treasury bond will decline by double the amount - that is, by 2%. If the price of bond increases by 3%, then the ETF price will rise by 6%.
Investors and traders must note that along with profits, the losses (if any) also get multiplied by the factor of two, which is the leverage factor.
