Exelon Corporation, incorporated on February 4, 1999, is a utility services holding company. The Company, through its subsidiary, Exelon Generation Company, LLC (Generation), is engaged in the energy generation business. The Company, through its subsidiaries, Commonwealth Edison Company (ComEd), PECO Energy Company (PECO), Baltimore Gas and Electric Company (BGE), Pepco Holdings LLC (PHI), Potomac Electric Power Company (Pepco), Delmarva Power & Light Company (DPL) and Atlantic City Electric Company (ACE), is engaged in the energy delivery businesses. The Company operates through 12 segments: Generation's six segments: Mid-Atlantic, Midwest, New England, New York, ERCOT and Other Power Regions; ComEd; PECO; BGE, and PHI's three utility segments: Pepco, DPL and ACE. Generation, ComEd, PECO, BGE, Pepco, DPL and ACE participate in energy markets that are administered by regional transmission organizations (RTOs) and independent system operators (ISOs).

Generation

Generation's integrated business consists of the generation, physical delivery and marketing of power across geographical regions through its customer-facing business, Constellation, which sells electricity and natural gas to both wholesale and retail customers. Generation also sells renewable energy and other energy-related products and services, and engages in natural gas and oil exploration and production activities. Mid-Atlantic represents operations in the eastern half of PJM Interconnection, LLC (PJM), which includes Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, Delaware, the District of Columbia and parts of North Carolina.

Midwest represents operations in the western half of PJM, which includes portions of Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, Kentucky and Tennessee, and the United States footprint of Midcontinent Independent System Operator, Inc. (MISO) (excluding MISO's Southern Region), which covers North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin, and the remaining parts of Illinois, Indiana, Michigan and Ohio not covered by PJM, and parts of Montana, Missouri and Kentucky. New England represents the operations within ISO New England Inc. (ISO-NE) covering the states of Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont.

New York represents the operations within ISO New York (ISO-NY), which covers the state of New York. ERCOT represents operations within Electric Reliability Council of Texas, covering the state of Texas. Other Power Regions is an aggregate of regions, including South, which represents operations in the Florida Reliability Coordinating Council (FRCC), MISO's Southern Region, and the remaining portions of the SERC Reliability Corporation (SERC) not included within MISO or PJM, which includes Florida, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina and parts of Missouri, Kentucky and Texas; West, which represents operations in the Western Electric Coordinating Council (WECC), including California ISO, and covers the states of California, Oregon, Washington, Arizona, Nevada, Utah, Idaho, Colorado, and parts of New Mexico, Wyoming and South Dakota, and Canada, which represents operations across Canada and includes the Alberta Electric Systems Operator (AESO), Ontario Independent Electricity System Operator (OIESO) and the Canadian portion of MISO. Generation's customers include distribution utilities, municipalities, cooperatives, financial institutions, and commercial, industrial, governmental and residential customers.

ComEd

ComEd's energy delivery business consists of the purchase and retail sale of electricity. ComEd is also engaged in the provision of electricity transmission and distribution services to retail customers in northern Illinois, including the City of Chicago.

PECO

PECO's energy delivery business consists of the purchase and retail sale of electricity, and the provision of electricity transmission and distribution services to retail customers in southeastern Pennsylvania, including the City of Philadelphia, as well as the purchase and retail sale of natural gas, and the provision of natural gas distribution services to retail customers in the Pennsylvania counties surrounding the city of Philadelphia. As of December 31, 2016, PECO had a liquefied natural gas (LNG) facility located in West Conshohocken, Pennsylvania that had a storage capacity of 1,200 million cubic feet (mmcf) and a send-out capacity of 157 mmcf per day, and a propane-air plant located in Chester, Pennsylvania with a tank storage capacity of 150 mmcf and a peaking capability of 25 mmcf per day. As of December 31, 2016, PECO also owned 31 natural gas city gate stations and direct pipeline customer delivery points at various locations throughout its gas service territory.

BGE

BGE's energy delivery business consists of the purchase and retail sale of electricity, and the provision of electricity transmission and distribution services to retail customers in central Maryland, including the City of Baltimore, as well as the purchase and retail sale of natural gas, and the provision of natural gas distribution services to retail customers in central Maryland, including the city of Baltimore. As of December 31, 2016, BGE had an LNG facility located in Baltimore, Maryland that had a storage capacity of 1,056 mmcf and a send-out capacity of 332 mmcf per day, and a propane-air plant located in Baltimore, Maryland with a storage capacity of 550 mmcf and a send-out capacity of 85 mmcf per day. As of December 31, 2016, BGE also owned 12 natural gas city gate stations and 20 direct pipeline customer delivery points at various locations throughout its gas service territory.

PHI is a utility services holding company engaged in the energy delivery businesses. Pepco's energy delivery business consists of the purchase and retail sale of electricity, and the provision of electricity transmission and distribution services to retail customers in the District of Columbia and portions of Montgomery County and Prince George's County in Maryland.
